Auction Expansion For Successful Land And Property Agents

Last updated: Monday, 5th October 2020, 14:05

Herefordshire based Auctioneers, Cobb Amos and John Amos & Co report a positive outlook for sales of property and land by Auction this year. As more homebuyers and vendors are using this method of sale, the Company has seen an increase in interest for properties from all sectors and sizes coming for sale through the Auction process in recent months. Indeed so much so that the Company are now expanding their Auction department and moving into Hereford with two further Auctions booked for 2014 at Hereford Rowing Club.

“We are delighted to be offering another venue in Hereford alongside our established venue at the Luctonians Sports Club in Kingsland. Our successful 2013 property and land auctions sold over £5 million of property and we are looking forward to a further growth in sales through 2014,” says Auction Sales Manager Jonathan Amos. “We are unusual in that we set 8 Auction dates for the year in advance. Hereford will increase our market presence and strengthen our client commitment. Our first Auction at The Rowing Club in Hereford is on the 15th May and already confirmed lots include a pub, super smallholding, city centre office, country cottage and commercial stores.

Our Auctions always attract a lot of interest and we often have our venues full to capacity!  As the residential market grows again, we are confident we will also see further rise in auction action from serious buyers who recognise the benefits that Auctions can offer. Our sellers do not pay an entry fee, can look forward to the best possible market price on the day, have access to an extensive list of active buyers and a short timescale to completion.”

Recent comments on property changes and trends are also showing an increased confidence amongst buyers and sellers using the auction process. Findings from Essential Information Group report an increase in sales through the Auction process since 2011 with figures for 2013 showing a 2.3% gain on 2012 and interestingly only marginally lower than the highs of 2006 – 2007.

For those sellers looking for surety of contract and a quicker transaction, The Auction could be a good alternative method of sale.

Jonathan invites anyone to come along and see for themselves what an Auction is all about at the new venue, Hereford Rowing Club on the 15th May at 6pm.
