Last updated: Monday, 5th October 2020, 13:52

We are delighted to advise you that as of the 1st October 2020, the business of John Amos & Co has been acquired by Bruton Knowles Chartered Surveyors.  John Amos & Co will continue to trade in the same format from its Leominster branch and John Amos will continue full time as Head of Operations.

This will see the business join a highly regarded national property group with 10 other offices across England and Wales, and the strong and much respected regional business of John Amos & Co, operating at a local level, supported by a national firm with access to the extended skillset of an experienced team.

Importantly on a day-to-day basis, there will be little change. John Amos & Co will continue to run exactly as before, with John at the helm, supported by the excellent team at Leominster.

Adam Holt will carry on giving excellent support, mainly in Basic Payment Scheme and Countryside Stewardship work and also increasingly looking at new funding and grants coming online in the near future.

Karen Preston will continue to lead in Farm Business Tenancies, Contract Farming Agreements and assisting in valuation work.

Sarah Holt will remain as Personal Assistant to John Amos whilst also assisting in sales of farms, land, property and valuation work.

In the Planning and Development area, Mike Harries will continue driving forward this highly successful area of the business through sales of sites and promotion of land with planning potential.

John Amos said “This is a very exciting stage for the business after 19 years to the day of the formation of John Amos & Co. We have been able to take a massive step forward here in joining the Bruton Knowles group. This will enable us to further strengthen the full suite of professional services that we have offered for many years and we are now able to introduce a number of additions which we hope will be very helpful to our clients.

As Bruton Knowles are Panel Valuers for most of the major lenders across the UK, we will be able to offer valuations for lending purposes alongside being able to offer commercial property expertise and pension valuations.  With a national presence, the Planning and Development Team will be able to share valuable contacts and offer further reach for our clients.”

James Bailey, Managing Partner at Bruton Knowles, explains: “We have been looking to develop the Bruton Knowles Rural Team for some time, and acquiring a business that could bring unrivalled knowledge and experience into the strategic mix was an absolute ideal. John Amos & Co offers exactly what we were looking for and more - a strong rural surveying practice with an excellent reputation and established client base in The West Midlands presenting us with significant scope to expand into new areas for the business.  This move opens up opportunities for both businesses, extending our skillsets and geographic reach, enabling us to further capitalise on opportunities in the sector.”

John Amos & Co is committed to continuing to offer the highest level of service to all of its existing clients and is very keen to further expand the rural and development practice across the region.  Both businesses are keen to build on an existing client base with the same high levels of knowledge and support.

All of the team can be contacted on their usual numbers, including the office number, and whilst the staff of John Amos & Co are still largely working from home, to follow current government guidelines, please be assured everyone is working hard to continue to deliver the high quality service that our client base has become used to.

If you have any enquiries as a result of this latest news, please do feel free to telephone John on his mobile 07813 601424 or speak to a staff member at the office on 01568 610007.

We all sincerely hope that we can continue to offer our high level of service and commitment to you and look forward to meeting new clients along the way.
